Towards and Away

We are almost always moving towards or away from something: a feeling, a place, repetitive thoughts, pleasure, and most often, other people. Mindfully practicing the dance of towards and away, we learn to actively and honestly choose to go towards or away from anybody or anything. Even when it feels as if there is no choice but to move towards something painful, or we habitually move away from the possibility of true intimacy, this practice is a big first step towards awareness and shifting long-term patterns.

During these last 18 months, social distancing has unfortunately forced us to inhibit our way of moving towards somebody or something. Often we rather moved away. Suspicion, fear and precautions have probably had a big impact on our body-behaviour. It’s time to learn again to deliberately move towards and to choose to turn away when we feel like it.

This Saturday, we’ll experience moving towards and away in an embodied way, mindfully and with awareness:
How does it feel to move towards, to say YES to the approach? What emotions rise up? And when do I want to move away? Do I dare to say STOP!  And how do I move away. Is moving away not just moving towards something new?

Good music is going to support us in our explorations.

Come and move towards a common floor and a common dance!
