Beginning the new season together
at the Old Church of Roodt-Syre
After the long summer break, our Saturday morning Open Floor classes will begin again on September 12. A moment to find our way back into the dance together — carried by the music, by our movement, and by the energy we create when we share the dance floor.
And for this first class of the new season, we will meet somewhere special:
Saturday, September 12
10:00–11:30
Al Kierch Roodt/Syre
10 Rue d’Olingen
6914 Roodt-sur-Syre
Many of you already know this beautiful place. And there is a reason why I have chosen it for our first dance together.
During the class, photos and some video footage will be taken. I am currently creating my new BornToBeMoved website, and I would love the images on it to reflect what actually happens in our classes — real people, real movement, real encounters, and the wonderful diversity of our dancing community.
Some of the material may also be shared with Open Floor International. Open Floor is gathering images from teachers and communities around the world to help make the practice more visible. For me, this is less about “advertising” than about pro-motion in the true sense of the word: helping something we value move out into the world, so that more people can discover this beautiful practice.
It is very important to me that our dance floor remains the safe and respectful space we know. If you are happy to take part but do not wish to be recognizable in photos or videos, please simply let me know. We will make sure that your privacy is respected.
This special class will be free of charge, and I would be so happy to see many of you there. It would mean a lot to begin this new season surrounded by our Saturday morning community and to create these images together — not by posing for the camera, but simply by doing what brings us together in the first place: dancing.
I’m already very much looking forward to beginning this new season together!
