The Art of Choice
WHAT IF… I Pause

One thing finished, and we are already moving on to the next. A message arrives and we answer, something needs doing and we do it, an idea comes and we follow it. Life has its own momentum, and so do we.

And sometimes, in the midst of all this movement and doing, what if we gave ourselves a little space? A moment to pause. Not because anything is wrong, and not necessarily because we need to stop what we are doing, but simply to be with ourselves for a moment.

To breathe.
To feel.
To notice what is here.

A pause is not empty, nor does everything suddenly become still. The body keeps breathing, sensations keep moving, little ripples of what came before may still be travelling through us. We stop adding to the momentum for a moment — and listen.

And perhaps this is where Pause becomes a resource for choice. When we are carried by our own momentum, one impulse can lead straight into the next action. In the pause, we may notice the impulse without immediately following it. We can stay with it for a moment, perhaps let it pass. And sometimes, in that little space, another possibility appears.

What if we stayed long enough to notice?
What becomes possible in the pause?

This Saturday, we’ll explore Pause on the dance floor — moving, pausing, listening, waiting, and allowing the next movement to emerge.
And perhaps a pause is simply a little space we offer ourselves before moving on…

Between stimulus
and response
there is a space.
And in that space
is our power
to choose our response.
In our response lies
our growth
and our freedom
– Victor Frankl

Stand still.
The trees ahead and bushes beside you
Are not lost. Wherever you are is called Here,
And you must treat it as a powerful stranger,
Must ask permission to know it and be known.
The forest breathes. Listen. It answers,
I have made this place around you.If you leave it, you may come back again, saying Here.
No two trees are the same to Raven.
No two branches are the same to Wren.
If what a tree or a bush does is lost on you,
You are surely lost. Stand still. The forest knows
Where you are. You must let it find you.

To make my classes accessible to more people, I am introducing a sliding scale.
Please choose the rate that genuinely reflects what you can afford at this time — no explanation is needed.

€25 — Supporter Rate
As before, if you choose this rate, you can also purchase a 10-class loyalty card for €225.

€15 — Standard Rate

€5 — Solidarity Rate

Your contribution helps cover the costs of offering these classes — including the space, equipment, travel and preparation — and also supports my work as a facilitator.

I contribute half of the income from my classes to Open Floor International. So by dancing with me, you are also indirectly supporting the wider Open Floor community and the organisation that makes this practice possible.

The sliding scale is based on mutual support: those who are able to choose the Supporter Rate help make the Solidarity Rate possible for those who need it.

Please choose the rate that feels both right and realistic for you.

You can pay by PayPal or Payconiq or cash before you enter the dance space.
You can also pay to my bank account : IBAN LU85 0024 1521 8570 0000

Every weekly class and its topic will be confirmed on my website in my NEWS BLOG.
Please check to be sure that the class is taking place. In case of an unexpected change I will inform you on my BLOG.
