Center

Sometimes life chooses our theme for us.

For the past weeks, my back has been asking for a lot of attention. Pain has a curious way of pulling us away from our balance, our ease, sometimes even from that quiet sense of being at home in ourselves.

And yet, what I am re-discovering again and again is that Center is not something we need to invent when life becomes challenging.

It is already there.

Not as a fixed place where everything is perfect, but as a resource we can return to, again and again.

This makes Annette’s upcoming class on Center feel especially meaningful to me.

She writes:

“To come to center allows us to find a still point, from which to connect with the different dimensions of ourselves. In centering we can bring our attention to physical sensations and find alignment and balance. To know our center also means to know how to come back when we lose balance. Practicing to return again and again can teach us how to find rest in the eye of the storm that is our present.”

I find this deeply encouraging.

Perhaps being out of balance does not mean being lost.
Discomfort does not necessarily mean disconnection.
Even when the body feels challenged, something in us may still know the way back.

Annette will be holding this Saturday’s class, and I am deeply grateful to her for stepping in while I navigate my current back adventure. I cannot imagine a more fitting theme right now.

If you feel called to explore Center — not as an idea, but as a lived experience — come and dance with us. 💛
