This class is inspired by one of the most touching moments in The Little Prince — when the fox asks, “Please… tame me.” In French, apprivoiser means more than just taming — it suggests building trust, creating a bond, choosing connection.

In Open Floor, we might call this to befriend — the gentle art of moving closer, of letting someone or something matter to us. This class is an invitation to explore that longing for connection — and the natural tension it carries.

We’ll move between solitude and contact, listening to our personal rhythms. What does it take to go toward another without losing ourselves? How do we stay in connection — not only with others, but also with what is true and alive in us?

As the fox says, “To me, you will be unique in all the world.” We’ll explore how movement can make that uniqueness visible. Through solo and partner dance, we’ll give space to the desire to belong — while honouring the need to step back, to breathe, to be alone.

Because to move toward something always means leaving something else behind. And real contact happens when we meet — clearly, gently — at the boundary between you and me.

You’re welcome exactly as you are — with your desire for closeness, your need for space, your longing to be seen and to see.
