MOVING IN UNCERTAIN TIMES 5

All of us go through periods that seem particularly arduous, painful, stressful. Sometimes we have the impression that life is too demanding, that we can’t see the forest for the trees, that we are losing our ground and centre.
Sometimes values and people that we could rely on seem far away, references that we could trust in seem like vanished. What was true yesterday isn’t true today anymore. We lose confidence, courage. A future that we were trusting in becomes uncertain and threatening…
In these phases, the practice of conscious movement reveals itself as being a powerful resource.
Moving in Uncertain Times is a sequence of 6 Open Floor classes.
We will use the resources that our practice has to offer us, resources that we have been exploring during the last months.
This Saturday…
En-Joy
If you suddenly and unexpectedly feel joy, don’t hesitate. Give in to it. There are plenty of lives and whole towns destroyed or about to be. We are not wise, and not very often kind. And much can never be redeemed. Still life has some possibility left. Perhaps this is its way of fighting back, that sometimes something happened better than all the riches or power in the world. It could be anything, but very likely you notice it in the instant when love begins. Anyway, that’s often the case. Anyway, whatever it is, don’t be afraid of its plenty. Joy is not made to be a crumb! Mary Oliver
We have been going through difficult, uncertain and especially unknown times, we might be grieving somebody or something, we might feel numb after isolation and we might have forgotten what it means to be joyful, at ease, happy. Or we might have hesitated to give ourselves permission to be joyful, to be at ease, to feel happy.
And this is not only true for the pandemic that has been shaking us the last 2 years. We know these patterns: It feels sometimes almost indecent to let joy and ease enter our homes when grief and sorrow is at the threshold of our lives.
This Saturday we “practice” (yes we practice it 🙂 ease, bliss, pleasure, and fun. Because Joy is not made to be a crumb!
Movement, Mindfulness and Awareness help us to find the way:
The present moment is filled with joy and happiness. If you are attentive, you will see it.
