May 25th at Helen’s dance

104 Av. Victor Hugo, 1750 Luxembourg
10.00-11.30

For a few days now I’ve been wondering what we could explore this Saturday.

Do you know this?
Lots of things, lots of ideas, lots of images in my head, some in my stomach, some on the tip of my tongue, some in my hands and feet… I’m circling around all these ‘notions’ like a tiger in a cage, sometimes I think I’m almost there, but none of what I’m ruminating on really emerges from my body. It remains cerebral, abstract, not filled with life. And above all, it remains very isolated, doesn’t really seem to be part of either my body or the space around it.

So why not explore exactely this on Saturday:
Embodying the mind.
Dance the energy and texture of thoughts
Become aware of our thoughts and get conscious of how they influence our movement
Dance and see how this evolves, move it and sense it in our body and in the larger space of our body.
We have no idea where it might lead.
And sometimes that’s exactly what scares us. Sometimes we think we can only trust that part of the mind which is reason, common sense, a certain logic and a certain planned itinerary too.
Sometimes we feel like unplugging our brains.
But there’s that other part of the mind: intuition, memory, inspirations, dreams, creativity…
We don’t want to unplugg that part.

« A key outcome in working with the mind is the ability to trust in not knowing – or not knowing yet. A mover can use their embodied experience to help ground and stabilize the workings of their mind for the many times we are uncertain, insecure, in-between, or faced with the reality of never truly knowing what will happen next .
The mind is a vibrant, fully alive dancer embodying a rich source of intriguing choreography that provides us with fuel for creative movement, exploration and healing
