Meditation has been used throughout history to calm the mind, to access states of space and freedom, or simply to ‘be’.

In the Open Floor meditation cycle, we alternately sit, walk and dance – each a meditation – to draw attention inwards, be with our body breath and develop the strength of mind and inner force needed to face whatever comes our way with effortless confidence.

The meditation cycle is a movement structure that allows us to explore the benefits of pausing as well as the alternation of activation and settling and the quality of the “in- between”. It is a beautiful, nourishing practice, held by the rhythm of repeating.

As always, there will be a second part of free dance, which will be nurtured by the experience of the Meditation Cycle.
